SHOLA ADEGBOLA
GROUP MANAGING DIRECTOR
Mr. Olusola Solomon Adegbola is a Chartered Banker with over Thirty Years of Executive-Level Experience working in Nigeria’s Oil & Gas Industry, and Twenty Five Years of Executive-Level Experience working in Nigeria’s Dredging and
Construction Industries. He is the Group Managing Director of John David’s Group. Hence, he is the topmost personnel of Derive West Africa. He is a native of Ibadan, Oyo State, Nigeria. He was awarded a Higher National Diploma (HND) in
Mass Communication from The Polytechnic, Ibadan in 1987. He became an associate member of the Chartered Institute of Bankers (ACIB) IN 1992.
Mr. Adegbola joined General Oil Ltd, a Petroleum Marketing Company as a marketing representative in March 1989 where he rose quickly to management position. As part of his experience on the job, he was exposed to several aspects of petroleum marketing across the North, East and West of Nigeria.
After three years of excellent service to the company and multiple awards to show or his efforts, he left General Oil in March 1992 to start HS Petroleum Ltd which he leveraged to create John Davids Group and subsequently, Derive West Africa .
Under the dynamic and able leadership of Mr. Adegbola, John Davids Group has grown steadily into the conglomerate that it is today.
ENGR. GBENGA TIJANI
DIRECTOR
Engr. Olugbenga Tijani’s 35 years professional experience cuts across Power & Energy, Oil & Gas and Manufacturing industries, with responsibilities in the areas of engineering, project conception, management, delivery and consulting
services.
As a professional engineer with training both in Nigeria and Overseas, he participated in pioneering IPP power projects in Nigeria through his contribution to the Engineering and Construction of the Rivers State 150MW IPP power plant
project, the first green field IPP in Nigeria. Hitherto, he had participated in some projects under a Michelin collaboration with Electricite de France (EDF) involving the operation and maintenance of Cogeneration plants in France.
A knowledgeable contact on Nigeria Power Sector Stakeholder management, Engr. Tijani has held strategic positions at executive management levels with a
reputation for performance driven delivery on projects. As the MD/CEO of Oats-Global Energy Limited, he has been involved in finding solutions to the power problems in Nigeria through promotion and development of a 746MW Combined Cycle Power Plant at Imobi, Ogun State in Collaboration with General Electric, USA
